Genetic characterization of antimicrobial resistant bacterial isolates derived from Viet Num.

Many studies on environmental antimicrobial-resistant bacteria were conducted by metagenomic analysis. However, the genetic diversity and characteristics of antimicrobial-resistant bacteria at the strain level detected from a single sample remain insufficiently understood. In this study, 96 colonies isolated per one sample from environment in Vietnam were analyzed detailly by amplicon sequencing and whole-genome sequencing. To analyze the genetic diversity of the isolated antimicrobial-resistant bacteria at the strain level, species identification and genetic characterization were performed. Species identification was conducted using 16S rRNA sequencing. Additionally, Escherichia coli isolates were classified based on fimH typing, and representative isolates were further analyzed through whole-genome sequencing.
