Volume change in container retail packaging in Europe 2011-2026

Between 2021 and 2026, paper packaging used in e-commerce is expected to report increasing volumes in Europe. Five-years-time forecasts for Western and Central Europe showed that by 2026, regular slotted containers of low-cost distribution packaging was expected to increase to 1,525 million m2 in comparison to 2021. Die-cut trays packaging in the same market segment will follow with an expected growth of 555 million m2. On the contrary, two formats of shelf-ready packaging mainly used in hypermarkets and supermarkets are expected to report negative trends.
