资源简介:

1. Summary This dataset is the output from a systematic review entitled "When to cryopreserve and when to let it go? A systematic review of priorities in wild animal cryobanking" which was published in Theriogenology Wild in January 2025. The dataset consists of the stated species and cell type (e.g. sperm, oocyte, somatic cell) priorities highlighted in papers that focused on wildlife and domestic animal biobanking. The papers were collected using the PRISMA search protocol, through three search engines; Web of Science, Scopus, and Google Scholar, for a search period from 1 January 1970 to 1 June 2023. The following Boolean string was used to identify papers: (cryo* OR frozen OR bank* OR genom*) AND (priori* OR strateg* OR sample-selection OR advance* OR program* OR collection) AND (conservation OR biodiversity) AND (animal OR wild* OR zoo OR aqua*) NOT plant. Some papers features twice in the dataset if they contained multiple, separate studies. 2. Description of the dataset The raw data can be found as a single .csv file. The data columns are as follows: Number: An unique number for each publication inputted into the spreadsheet. If a publication contained multiple studies, each study has its own row in the spreadsheet, but the publication number is the same. Year: Year that the paper was published. First author: The surname of the lead author Last author: The surname of the last author Lead affiliation: The organisation noted as the affiliation for the lead author.# Journal: The journal that the paper was published in. Paper name: The name of the publication. Within a species or between species: Did the publication focus on prioritisation methods within a single species population (e.g. genetic diversity, founder representation), or between species (e.g. endangered species, taxonomic uniqueness)? Strategy: The stated strategy for prioritising species or individuals for biobanking. Number of samples: The number of samples recommended to be collected per species for biobanking. Number of individuals: The number of individual animals recommended to be represented per species for biobanking. Animal: The species or taxonomic group being discussed. Field: The industry type that the publication focused on (e.g. wildlife, agriculture) Class: The taxonomic class for the priority taxon. Order: The taxonomic order for the priority taxon. Family: The taxonomic family for the priority taxon. Genus: The taxonomic genus for the priority taxon. (Sub)species: The taxonomic species (and subspecies) for the priority taxon. Sperm/ Oocyte/ Embryo / Larva/ Epididymal sperm / Ovarian tissue/ Somatic cell/ iPSC/ ESC/ PGC/ Blood: Did the publication highlight this tissue type as a priority for biobanking? A Y denotes that this was highlighted as a priority. A publication could highlight multiple tissue types as priorities.
