Draft genome sequence of Hesperomyces virescens sensu lato species 1 strain D. Haelew. 1200h

Hesperomyces virescens is an obligate biotroph of Coccinellidae (ladybirds or ladybugs). It is a complex of multiple species, each adapted to individual host species. We report the draft genome sequence of H. virescens sensu lato species 1, based on a thallus from Olla v-nigrum, the ash-gray ladybird, collected in the 485-ha USDA-ARS, Southeastern Fruit and Tree Nut Research Laboratory, located in Byron, Georgia. This genome will be used in phylogenomic analyses and studies of parasitisim, thallus development, and perithecial origin.
