Effect of tempol on cisplatin-induced changes in mortality, initial body weight (IBW), final body weight (FBW), relative kidney weight, serum creatinine and urea, glucosuria and proteinuria in mice.

Relative kidney weight was calculated as the percentage of weights of kidneys divided by the final body weight of the mice. Mice were studied 72 h after a single i.p. injection of cisplatin (25 mg/kg). Tempol (100 mg/kg/day) was given orally for 4 days starting one day before cisplatin injection. Glucosuria and proteinuria were evaluated as urinary glucose/creatinine ratio and urinary protein/creatinine ratio.
