Nasopharyngeal swabs from dairy calves fed milk replacer with and without low levels of antimicrobials

This project examines the effects of feeding low levels of antimicrobials in milk replacer on the nasopharyngeal microbiome and resistome of pre and post-weaned dairy calves. Shotgun metagenomic sequencing was used to assess changes in microbial composition and antimicrobial resistance gene abundance over time.
