Macrophages residing inside mouse pancreatic islets have an activated phenotype at steady-state. We revealed that they also harbor an antioxidant profile, expressing CD9. We therefore explored the transcriptomic signature of CD9high versus CD9low macrophages using single cell RNA sequencing. Overall design: Islets were isolated and pooled from 6-8 myeloid WT mice and dissociated into single cells to FACS-sort CD45+ immune cells. Cells were used for single cell RNA sequencing using a TotalSeq-B0813 anti-mouse CD9 antibody (Biolegend Cat# 124823) and 10X genomics.
