Negative thoughts and glucose levels reduction after introspective writing task in the short term in people with/without T2DM

The aim of this study was to analyze the association between measured and induced negative thoughts (NTs) and blood glucose levels when performing introspective writing. The automatic negative thoughts questionnaire (ATQ-N) was applied and subsequently performed a writing task with the theme of feelings of guilt randomized. Sociodemographic and clinical information was obtained. Fasting glucose was measured before and after 20 minutes of writing, at the end, peripherical blood and saliva samples were taken to measure glycated hemoglobin (HbA1c) and cortisol.
