The global health burden of pediatric chronic kidney disease: An analysis of the Global Burden of Disease database from 1990 to 2021 supplemental data

This study investigates the global burden of pediatric chronic kidney disease (CKD) from 1990 to 2021 using data from the Global Burden of Disease (GBD) 2021 database. Focusing on CKD caused by type 1 and type 2 diabetes mellitus, hypertension, glomerulonephritis, and congenital anomalies of the kidney and urinary tract (CAKUT), the analysis examines incidence, prevalence, mortality, and disability-adjusted life years (DALYs) across age, sex, geography, and socio-demographic index (SDI) levels.
