The Impact of T.muris infection over time in the mouse intestinal microbiota and the recovery on clearance

Trichuris Spp. are a globally important group of intestinal helminth parasites, in which Trichuris muris (mouse whipworm) is a model for this disease. Intestinal microbial communities are important for host health and immune system regulation, with dysbiosis of the microbiota linked to intestinal diseases. The hatching of T.muris eggs and consequent infection requires interaction with the host microbiota. This study investigated the effect of T.muris infection on faceal microbiota of mice and their response to the clearance of infection.
