UK girls on upsetting online experiences 2016-2023

According to surveys conducted in 2016 and 2023 in the United Kingdom (UK), instances of threatening or upsetting online behavior have become more common for girls aged between seven and ten years. One-quarter of respondents reported having experienced cyberbullying in 2023, compared to 13 percent in 2016. Unwanted online contact also increased, from 16 percent in 2016 to 30 percent in 2023.
