资源简介:
The purpose of an admission register was to record basic details about children admitted to the school, and about their parents or guardians. The registers were also used to record the progress of the children through various classes and the date of their leaving the school. The series from Rothbury Public School is presently represented by a single volume, the last in the series, which records current enrolments at the beginning of 1948 (the earliest of which dates from 1942) and all subsequent admissions until the closure of the school at the end of 1964. This volume contains information pertaining to each pupil including: date of admission; pupil's name; date of birth; religious denomination; name of previous school and date of leaving. The following details are recorded about the child's parents or guardians: name, residence and occupation. The pupil's date of admission to each subsequent grade, date of leaving the school and any occupation entered into on leaving school are also recorded; this last column is also commonly used to indicate the school to which a pupil may have transferred.Girls and boys are listed on opposite pages in order of admission, and numbered in two separate sequences. The numbering in this volume continues that used in the previous volume of the series, the "Old Register" from which the entries for enrolments then current were transferred at the beginning of 1948. This numbering continues throughout the volume until the last entries prior to the closure of the school.
