La Brava Ma1, Ma2, Mi1, Mi2, PhM Targeted Locus (Loci). hypersaline lake metagenome

We try to characterize and compare the physicochemical features of microbial mats and microbialites of the hypersaline lake "La Brava" from the Salar de Atacama as well as the microbial diversity by sequencing of culture-independent bacterial 16S rRNA gene sequences. La Brava is a hypersaline lake and therein, bacterial communities thrive, forming different structures and colonizing varied niches. Given that the conditions in the lakes have important seasonal changes, including mainly temperature and dissecation, it is interesting to study the composition and evolution of these communities, and also its influence in the biogeochemical setting.
