ProtectedSeas Navigator - All Sites

The ProtectedSeas' Navigator database is a global collection of Marine Protected Areas (MPAs) and other marine managed areas (MMAs) that regulate fishing and other human uses. ProtectedSeas uses a standardized process to collect, synthesize, and map MPAs and MMAs. The data provides legal ocean protection information for each area, including status (Prohibited / Restricted / Allowed) of fishing and other marine activites. A Level of Fishing Protection (LFP) score is also assigned to each area based on an analysis of restrictions on marine life extraction, coded on a 1-5 scale. Maximum LFP, accounting for the overlap of areas, is provided as a separate layer. A full dataset attributes list, by site version, is available here.
