Macaca arctoides isolate:LJ-SM-ZOO-2016 Genome sequencing

Macaca arctoides experienced hybridization events during its speciation, resulting in the inconsistent phylogenetic positions of its autosomes and mitochondrion. The difference of phylogenetic position based on nuclear and mitochondrial markers of M. arctoides suggested that a mitochondrial replacement event may be involved in its evolutionary history. However, the hybridization pattern of nuclear chromosomes in the M. arctoides genome has not been analyzed in detail. And a de novo genome assembly is conducive to a clear interpretation of phylogenetic relationship and evolutionary history of M. arctoides.
