TROPoe User Guide: Use Cases

TROPoe (tropospheric remotely observed profiling via optimal estimation) is a software package designed to retrieve thermodynamic profiles and cloud properties from ground-based microwave radiometers and infrared spectrometers.  It uses a physical-iterative approach and provides a full error characterization of each retrieval including information content.  Additional observations that provide further constraints on the retrieved profiles are easily included. TROPoe has been packaged in a Docker software container allowing it to be easily ported to other computer systems, ranging from laptops to high-performance computers.  

TROPoe is described by the NOAA Technical Memorandum OAR GSD-78 (doi:10.25923/dhza-n042) titled "TROPoe User Guide: v1.0".  In that guide, there are multiple use cases that are presented to illustrate how to set up the input directories, configure the retrieval, and analyze the output.  Those use cases are provided in this dataset.
