Brazil: regional distribution of AI startups 2021

As of February 2021, the Southeast Region of Brazil alone accounted for more than 70 percent of all artificial intelligence (AI) startups in that South American country. This region comprehends the states of Espírito Santo, Minas Gerais, Rio de Janeiro, and São Paulo. Meanwhile, the states of Paraná, Santa Catarina, and Rio Grande do Sul, which form the South Region, were home to around 22.5 percent of the Brazilian AI startups as of that point in time. In 2020, Quicko, Stilingue, and Kyas.AI were among the most funded AI companies in Brazil.
