We provide evidence that the type-I, -II and -III IFNs induced differentially expressed genes associated with inflammation and epithelial remodeling. Besides their overlapping induced interferon stimulated genes, all IFN family members enhanced the antiviral host intrinsic defence mechanisms by increasing epithelial integrity. Primary differentiated organotypic 3D air-liquid interphase cultures were incubated with IFNa (300 IU/ml), IFNb (100 IU/ml), IFNg (200IU/ml), IFNL1 (100 ng/ml), IFNL3 (100 ng/ml)
