During the "Advanced course in identification of species: Spider taxonomy and ecology" of the Ecology & Evolutionary Biology Master´s program at the Faculty of Biological and Environmental Sciences, University of Helsinki, the authors were teaching and learning spider identification, taxonomy, behaviour and sampling. The authors of this paper sampled four plots in mountain birch forest in Kilpisjärvi (Fig. 1). The plots sampled in this area are so far the northernmost and only plots sampled from the hemiarctic zone in a global spider diversity project (see http://biodiversityresearch.org/research/biogeography/). To produce high-quality data comparable to other sampling conducted under the global project, sampling was performed following the standardized COBRA – Conservation Oriented Biodiversity Rapid Assesment – protocol (Cardoso 2009). By following the protocol, it is ensured that this data can be re-used in multiple ways.

在赫尔辛基大学生物与环境科学学院生态与进化生物学硕士学位课程的“高级物种识别课程：蜘蛛分类学与生态学”中，作者们负责教授与学习蜘蛛的识别、分类、行为及采样。本文作者在基尔皮斯耶尔维的山桦林中选取了四个样地（见图1）。该区域选取的样地迄今为止位于最北端，并且是全球蜘蛛多样性项目中唯一从亚北极地区采样的样地（参见http://biodiversityresearch.org/research/biogeography/）。为了产生与全球项目下其他采样可比的高质量数据，采样过程遵循了标准化的COBRA（面向保护的生物多样性快速评估）协议（Cardoso 2009）。通过遵循此协议，确保了这些数据能够以多种方式被重复利用。
