资源简介:
Supernumerary teeth are a common developmental abnormality in the oral field; however, the precise underlying mechanisms remain elusive. Primary cilia are distributed among tooth germ cells and assume a pivotal role in regulating odontogenesis. Mutations in cilia-related genes have been implicated in the supernumerary tooth etiology. Thus, this study aimed to elucidate the fundamental involvement of intraflagellar transport (IFT) in the development of supernumerary teeth. Leveraging a murine model with Ift56 gene knockout (Ift56-KO), supernumerary teeth were observed to form from the division of the first molar (M1) placode. This transcriptome data was obtained from E13.5 Ift56-KO and wild-type mice and was used to analyze the mechanisms underlying the formation of supernumerary teeth.
