The invention relates to a load-bearing and heat-insulating structural element (1) having a thickness (4) and an areal extent (2， 3)， made of longitudinally cut Typha leaves， which yield rod-shaped Typha leaf particles(5)， wherein the rod-shaped Typha leaf particles (5) are oriented perpendicular to the thickness (4) of the structural element (1) and are connected to one another with adhesive (6)， preferably with a mineral-based adhesive (6) without significant non-mineral additives.
