资源简介:
This dataset provides a comprehensive, disaggregated view of Methane (CH4) emissions by country, sourced from World Bank indicators and primarily derived from the EDGAR (Emissions Database for Global Atmospheric Research) Community GHG Database. All methane emissions are standardized to CO2 equivalent values using the IPCC's 5th Assessment Report (AR5) Global Warming Potential (GWP) factors, allowing for direct comparison with other greenhouse gases. The dataset includes the following key measures, all excluding Land Use, Land Use Change, and Forestry (LULUCF) due to inherent uncertainties: Total CH4 Emissions Excluding LULUCF (Mt CO2e): This indicator (EN.GHG.CH4.MT.CE.AR5) represents the overall annual CH4 output from agriculture, energy, waste, and industrial sectors. CH4 Emissions from Industrial Combustion (Energy) (Mt CO2e): Focuses on CH4 from fuel combustion in manufacturing and construction (IPCC 2006 code 1.A.2). CH4 Emissions from Power Industry (Energy) (Mt CO2e): Tracks CH4 from electricity and heat generation (IPCC 2006 code 1.A.1.a). CH4 Emissions from Industrial Processes (Mt CO2e): Covers CH4 from various industrial production processes, such as cement, chemicals, metals, and electronics manufacturing (IPCC 2006 codes 2.A-G). CH4 Emissions from Waste (Mt CO2e): Includes CH4 from solid waste disposal, biological treatment, incineration, open burning, and wastewater treatment (IPCC 2006 codes 4.A, 4.B, 4.C, 4.D). CH4 Emissions from Agriculture (Mt CO2e): Details CH4 contributions from livestock (enteric fermentation and manure management) and specific crop activities like rice cultivation (IPCC 2006 codes 3.A, 3.C). CH4 Emissions from Transport (Energy) (Mt CO2e): Reports CH4 from various transportation modes including civil aviation, road, rail, and water-borne navigation (IPCC 2006 codes 1.A.3.a, 1.A.3.b, 1.A.3.c, 1.A.3.d, 1.A.3.e). CH4 Emissions from Fugitive Emissions (Energy) (Mt CO2e): Accounts for CH4 leaks during the extraction, processing, and transport of solid fuels, oil, and natural gas (IPCC 2006 codes 1.A.1.bc, 1.B.1, 1.B.2, 5.B). This dataset is an invaluable resource for researchers and policymakers seeking to understand the specific sources and trends of methane emissions, aiding in the development of targeted mitigation strategies.
