In 2023, around one million environmental bonus applications after buying an electric car in Germany were filed by companies, while 931,739 were filed by private individuals. The German federal government granted an environmental bonus for the purchase (purchase or leasing) of electric vehicles if they were registered for the first time and the net list price of the basic model did not exceed 65,000 euros. The preliminary end of the program was announced in December 2023.
