This file contains Supplementary data for the publication <Potential contribution of house gardening towards sustainable food systems in the EU> 'Garden production tables.zip': contains excel files with information about potential garden area, vegetable production, irrigation requirement, and grass production, 'Results.xlsx': contains supplementary results of the potential production and environmental benefits of gardening in the EU 'Input tables.zip': contains ecel files with parameters used in the calculations of garden potential (used in the R model) 'R script (basic models).txt': contains R script with the calculations of potential environmental benefits of gardening in the EU 'QGIS models.zip': contains QGIS model files (.model3) with models used to derive the garden maps and calculate vegetable production, irrigation need, and grass production 'Garden area map.zip': contains raster maps of potential garden areas in the EU summed per 5km pixel *In comparison to version 1, in this version there was adopted a population limit of 100m2 per person on a 5km grid to reduce overestimations of garden areas. The garden utilization rate was reduced to 20% and it was directly applied to the garden production values, which wasn't the case in version 2.
