In this study, we tested the applicability of a DNA metabarcoding approach for the assessment of the wild bee fauna in the Grand-Duchy of Luxembourg. Our central aim is to propose an effective DNA metabarcoding approach, which ultimately can provide robust data on local wild bee species diversity and distribution, while preserving bulk samples of wild bees as vouchers. Here, we analyzed the detection capacity of the proposed pipeline through mock communities of known composition under variable DNA concentration treatments.
