资源简介:
Historically correct model (recreated) of a 'Viking' game piece discovered in Lincolnshire, UK. The original is a cast copper-alloy gaming piece of Viking or Anglo-Scandinavian origins, c. AD 800-1050. The original is in the [Portable Antiquites Scheme database](https://finds.org.uk/database/artefacts/record/id/575072) (ID Number NCL-6F7823). It's about 2cm in diametre at its base. This is what the original might have looked like when it was newly cast of bronze. It was probably used for a game of 'hnefatafl' - more[ information on this popular Early-Medieval game can be found here](https://vikingsof.me/blog/early-medieval-board-games-hnefatafl/). The original is similar in shape to glass pieces found in the british isles, such as one found at [Lindesfarne](https://digventures.com/2020/02/stunning-1200-year-old-glass-king-gaming-piece-found-on-lindisfarne/) or one from the Pictish hillfort in Dundurn, Scotland.
