Benthic disturbance affects intertidal food-web dynamics: implications for investigations of ecosystem functioning

Awarded Marine Research Stations Network (MARS) first prize for poster presentation at the 44th European Marine Biology Symposion (44EMBS) in 2009. Work highlights the potential for analyses based on the functional traits of taxa to mislead as to the functional roles played by taxa. Such approaches do not indicate what a taxon is actually doing at any one time: only it's potential behaviour.
