VPRS 8900 Subject Index to General Correspondence Files, Multiple Number Sequence

This series of subject index cards (White) was created to provide a quick method of locating file numbers if the subject matter of correspondence and the primary and secondary subject index numbers were known.The subject index consists of 8"X5" cards. A card was raised for each secondary heading on which was listed all the files raised on that subject. The first secondary card under each primary heading was, always "General", and this card was used when it was the only heading under a specific primary.
