Farmer Willingness to Pay for Quality Chickpea and Green Gram Seeds—Myanmar 2018 Survey

The use of higher quality seed in a smallholder context can be hampered by several factors including availability, perception of the seed quality, and the price premium required to purchase. This dataset is based on a study that focused on the latter two factors and investigated farmers' willingness-to-pay (WTP) for quality legume seeds representing three different seed systems—formal, semi-formal, and informal. The experiment was designed to measure the effect of quality signaling conveyed in the information about the type and source of seeds. This set includes data from the WTP experiments, seed quality ratings by farmers during the WTP experiment, and farmer survey conducted after the experiment.
