Characterization of MBC biosynthetis gene cluster in Streptomyces albus HUT6047. Streptomyces albus HUT6047 induced remarkable ectopic tentacles in polyps of Aurelia aurita. The active component was purified and then structure-elucidated to be 4-methoxy-2,2-bipyrrole-5-carboxaldehyde (MBC).
