With rapid industrialization, urbanization and changing agricultural practices, various toxic chemicals and pollutants are discharged into various water bodies., exposing many non target aquatic organisms including fish. Arsenic trioxide is one such toxic chemical which has been extensively studied for its mutagenic, clastogeic, teratogenic, and clastogenic effects( beattie et all,1990, Leonard 1979) in various mammalian model, but is less explored in fish model.( manna and sadhukhan, 1986) . However in recent years emphasis is being given on exploring various agents which can reduce or minimize cytogenic effects produced by such chemical mutagens. Vitamin c has already been tested and repeated as an excellent clastogenic(gebhartet al1985, Bose and sinha,1991), , antimutagenic, (shamberger,1984) . Similarly effects of , and its antigenic property has not been much studied in any fish model as such.
