MBD-sequencing in canine mammary gland

Canine Mammary tumor (CMT) has long been considered as a great animal model for human breast cancer (HBC) due to their pathological and biological similarities. To better understand both CMT and HBC on the epigenetic aspect, we sequenced methylated CpG DNA isolated from 11 CMT tissues and paired adjacent normal tissues and enriched with methyl-binding domain (MBD) proteins. Methylation profiling on CMT allows us to better understand both HBC and CMT, yielding new insight into the development of biomarkers and targets for both diseases.
