To document the influence of soil moisture on soil carbon and bacterial populations we conducted a soil microcosm experiment across a water-filled pore space (WFPS) gradient, using 13C-glucose to trace the fate of labile carbon. This study used both 16S rRNA gene sequencing and Nanopore Metagenomic analysis to profile the microbial community shifts.
