Here, we up-scaled a validated semi-empirical, yet physiologically-based, remote sensing model — Ensemble_all using MODIS land surface temperature (MOD11C2) , enhanced vegetation indices (MOD13C1) and land cover data (MCD12C1) and harvest a global terrestrial Reco data set (2001-2010). The temporal resolution of this data set is 1 month, the spatial resolution is 0.05°, scope of this data set 55°S to 65°N, 180°W to 180°E (the crop and natural vegetation mosaic is not included), and the time duration is from January 2001 to December 2010. Cross-validation with site observations, and with the Reco outputs from variable_Q10 model proposed by Yuan et al. (2011) and from a process model LPJ_S1 reveals that our Reco data set grasps Reco patterns at both temporal and spatial scales well in most ecosystems over the world.
