In a murine lung infection model with Streptococcus pneumoniae, we found significant transcriptomic and proteomic adaptations by resident alveolar macrophages. Overall design: Our study provides novel insights into the molecular adaptations of alveolar macrophages upon lung infection with Streptococcus pneumoniae.
