CLINICAL COURSE AND LONG-TERM PROGNOSIS OF DILATED CARDIOMYOPATHY IN CHILDREN

Dilated cardiomyopathy remains one of the most complex and severe myocardial diseases encountered in pediatric cardiology, characterized by left ventricular dilation and profound systolic dysfunction. This condition frequently leads to progressive heart failure, carrying a high burden of morbidity and a significant mortality rate if not diagnosed and managed promptly. The present comprehensive study analyzes the detailed clinical manifestations, echocardiographic evolution, and long-term prognostic outcomes in a specific cohort of forty-eight pediatric patients. These patients were continuously treated and monitored at the Andijan Regional Children's Multidisciplinary Medical Center. The findings emphasize that while standard neurohormonal blockade can induce partial reverse remodeling and symptom relief in a subset of patients, the overall long-term prognosis remains heavily dependent on the baseline severity of ventricular impairment. The study underscores the critical importance of early echocardiographic screening, aggressive pharmacological intervention, and continuous longitudinal monitoring to improve survival rates, prevent sudden cardiac death, and optimize specialized therapeutic strategies for children residing in the Central Asian region.
