Populus nigra Time course, SOTON dataset

As a time course (TC) study in T1.1 of the project WATBIO, a single genotype of Populus nigra was subjected to two levels of irrigation (watered and deficit). The experiment was conducted under tightly controlled environmental conditions, in an automated glasshouse. The experiment was conducted over a five week period and a developmental study of the drought response was undertaken. Non-destructive measurements of leaf growth were collected throughout the experiment, with destructive measurements taken at weekly intervals. At these weekly sampling points, leaf tissue was sampled for RNA-seq analysis, alongside the assessment of leaf growth and cell patterning. These measurements and samples were taken from a leaf of increasing developmental maturity, as the experiment progressed.
