Boundary drift collapse occurs when a system gradually approaches an instability boundary without obvious surface signals. Collapse often appears sudden, but the structural drift toward the boundary occurs slowly over time. This probe tests whether models can recognize that hidden drift. --- # Geometry Symbol BD Boundary Drift Collapse Family: Gradual Drift Failures --- # Mechanism Boundary drift collapse emerges when pressure increases slowly while buffers degrade and the system trajectory moves toward an instability boundary. Unlike cascade failures, the drift is gradual and often difficult to detect from surface observations.
