Reproducibility package for the study "Interannual composition controls the representativeness of finite streamflow records beyond record length"

This repository contains the R workflow used to evaluate how interannual composition affects the representativeness of finite daily streamflow records across 1,308 catchments in 23 countries. The workflow implements the complete analytical sequence, including source-data preparation and quality control, hydrological-year definition, fixed-length record-composition experiments, retrospective-to-prospective evaluation, convergence analysis, hydrological conditionality, robustness and sensitivity analyses, and generation of publication tables and figures. The deposited package includes the analysis scripts, GRDC-Caravan attribute and spatial files required by the workflow, source licensing information, and the final supplementary publication artifacts. The complete collection of 5,356 daily GRDC-Caravan streamflow CSV files is not redistributed because of its size and third-party provenance. These records can be obtained directly from GRDC-Caravan v0.6 and placed in 00_input/raw/timeseries/grdc/ to reproduce the workflow from the original observations. Large intermediate analytical objects and reproducible main-result directories are also omitted because they are regenerated deterministically by the supplied scripts. The repository includes a README.md, machine-readable citation metadata, licensing information, and an renv workflow for recording the R package environment.
