Widened-vocabulary search record and plural-form correction for a scoping review of AI disclosure and verification in research: counts, checks and record dispositions
收藏资源简介:
Search record for the scoping review "AI Disclosure and Verification in Research", registered at OSF (doi:10.17605/OSF.IO/TNA23), deposited with OSF Amendment 13. Amendment 11 widened the third concept block of the registered search strings, adding terms that name the object of disclosure practice ("academic writing", "academic journal(s)", "scientific publication(s)", "scientific publishing") rather than its field. The widened strings were run on all seven registered platforms (PubMed, OpenAlex, arXiv, Europe PMC, ERIC, IEEE Xplore, ACM Digital Library) between 29 October and 1 November 2026. Each was run beside a same-day control, the string as originally registered, so that growth in the databases since August could be separated from records the registered vocabulary had missed. A failed sensitivity check at ACM led to a test, run on every platform, of whether a search for a term also retrieves its plural form. ACM (quoted phrases), Europe PMC (phrases and single words) and PubMed (single words) do not; ERIC, arXiv, OpenAlex and IEEE Xplore do. Amendment 13 records the cost to each registered string and the correction applied. The deposit gives every search string as run, with its date, count, control count and sensitivity or execution check; the disposition of every record (already held, vocabulary-gap intake, or awaiting classification after the 15 August 2026 closing date); platform-by-platform findings on search syntax; and a log of errors made in preparing the materials. Records are identified by PMID, DOI, arXiv, Europe PMC, ERIC or OpenAlex identifiers only; titles and abstracts are not redistributed. Screening decisions at deposit: 152 arXiv records screened by the reviewer (12 In, 8 Unsure, 132 Out); 150 records awaiting screening, to be reported in the closing amendment. AI assistance (Anthropic Claude) was used for deduplication, parsing, dating, counting, seeded sampling and compilation, within the categories permitted at Section 7 of the protocol. No screening decision was made or checked by AI.
