Extensively drug-resistant Pseudomonas aeruginosa ST357 in the Netherlands

In the hospital environment, carbapenemase-producing Pseudomonas aeruginosa (CPPA) may lead to fatal patient infections. However, the transmission routes of CPPA often remain unknown. Therefore, the aim of this study was to trace the origin of CPPA ST357 isolates which have been introduced to the Netherlands via repatriation of patients.
