Co-Created Pathway Actions for Nature-Positive Futures Across the European Biodiversity Nexus (BIONEXT)

The database contains the actions that form the three transformative biodiversity nexus pathways co-created through the BIONEXT stakeholder workshops. These pathways represent alternative but desirable trajectories toward nature-positive futures for Europe by 2050, developed according to the three value perspectives of the Nature Futures Framework: Nature for Nature (NfN), Nature as Culture (NaC), and Nature for Society (NfS). The pathways were developed through a multi-stage participatory process involving stakeholders from biodiversity, water, energy, transport, food, and health sectors, representing government, civil society, business, research, and minority groups from across Europe. As part of this process, stakeholders identified actions needed to achieve each pathway vision. The final database contains 634 pathway actions, distributed across the three pathways (224 actions in NfN, 224 actions in NfS, and 186 actions in NaC). Actions are organised across three temporal horizons (2030, 2040, and 2050) and span the main biodiversity nexus domains of biodiversity, water, food, energy, transport, and health.
