Lab 6 Data - Relationship of Height of Plants and Insect Abundance

Three different areas of vegetation was studied for their abundance of insects based on the height of surrounding plants. Tall Grass area of plants over 15 inches tall; Short Grass area of plants under 5 inches tall; and concrete parking lot area of no vegetation. 40 quadrates were randomly placed for each of the three different vegetation areas. For each quadrate placed average height of plants were recorded using transect, and total abundance of observed insects were recorded. Location of these three areas were located at the York University Keele Campus. South-East of the pond located on Pond Road. Experiment was completed on a cool dry day.
