Economically viable bio-based chemicals production
收藏资源简介:
The chemical industry relies heavily on fossil feedstocks, creating sustainability, supply, and climate challenges. Transitioning to renewable, low-carbon production is essential to reduce emissions and improve long-term resilience. Lignocellulosic biomass, particularly agricultural residues such as Australian sugarcane bagasse, offers an abundant, non-food-competing alternative for integrated biorefineries. This work develops and evaluates two commercial-scale biomass-based routes for furfural and acetone production, integrating experimental kinetics, process simulation, techno-economic analysis, and environmental assessment. The results provide an industrially relevant pathway toward circular, low-carbon chemical manufacturing aligned with United Nations Sustainable Development Goals..
