<b>Exploring the Awareness and Acceptance of Mommy Makeover Procedures Among Women in Ekiti State, Nigeria</b>

<b>ABSTRACT</b>Post-pregnancy body changes often lead to dissatisfaction among mothers desiring to restore their pre-pregnancy appearance. "Mommy Makeover" procedures, which combine various aesthetic surgeries, are gaining global popularity but remain under-recognized and less accepted in Nigeria. A cross-sectional survey was conducted using Google form-based questionnaires distributed via WhatsApp to women who had given birth in health facilities across Ekiti State. The questionnaire evaluated their obstetric history, body changes post-childbirth, awareness of mommy makeovers, and attitudes toward these procedures. Data were analysed using SPSS Statistics version 29. Of the 206 respondents, 183 had previous childbirths. The mean age was 36.05 years. Most respondents were professionals (65.4%), married (95.6%), and had tertiary education (96.3%). Significant body changes post-childbirth included sagging breasts (44.1%) and loose abdominal skin (41.9%). Only 19.9% were aware of mommy makeovers. Although 66.9% desired to revert to their pre-pregnancy bodies, only 36.0% sought professional help. Barriers included lack of knowledge, fear of complications, and societal norms. Limited awareness and acceptance of mommy makeover procedures exist in Ekiti State. Addressing cultural and socioeconomic barriers and increasing education on these procedures could enhance their acceptance and practice.
