Damage and rainfall databases associated with Cyclone Harry (18–21 January 2026) in Calabria, Southern Italy

This comprehensive dataset was compiled to support the assessment of multiple hazard impacts associated with Cyclone Harry, which affected the Calabria region (Southern Italy) between 18 and 21 January 2026. It consists of two databases. “Damage Database” contains 195 georeferenced damage records, triggered by wave storms, landslides, urban flooding, floods and strong winds during Cyclone Harry. Additional parameters (geomorphometric and geomorphological) are available only for wave storm-related damage, to investigate their potential influence on their spatial distribution. Morpho-lithological attributes of coastline were estracted from: ISPRA, Rapporto 415/2025 “Dissesto idrogeologico in Italia: pericolosità e indicatori di rischio. Edizione 2024” ISBN 978-88-448-1273-7. “Rainfall Database” contains rainfall data concerning 87 rain gauge stations with at least 30 years of measurements ending in 2026 and operational during the event in Calabria. Cumulated event rainfall and historical data are available on Multi-Risk Functional Centre of the Regional Agency for Environmental Protection of Calabria Region website (https://www.cfd.calabria.it/). Authors used these data to calculate the parameters reported in the database.
