Functional microbial communities in hybrid linear flow channel reactors for desulfurization of tannery effluent

This study was conducted in order to monitor bacterial community composition and succession in hybrid linear channel flow reactors used for the pre-treatment and desulfurization of wastewater from a tannery processing bovine and ovine hides and skins. The succession and selection of the bacterial taxa from the tannery effluent itself, as well as enriched consortia harvested from saline estuaries were monitored.
