资源简介:
In an effort to elucidate how prey and predator identity determine defence responses in waterfleas, we used inducible morphology and life history traits of Daphnia mitsukuri as a model to test: (1) whether Daphnia mitsukuri responds differentially to kairomones from six different fish species, (2) whether D. mitsukuri responds differentially to alarm cues, kairomones, and their combination from the fish Rhodeus feeding on eight different prey species of varying phylogenetic relatedness, (3) whether D. mitsukuri responds differentially to Rhodeus ingesting zooplankton communities with different proportions of cladocerans. and (4) whether different D. mitsukuri genotypes differentially respond to the same kairomones.
