Saccharum officinarum Transcriptome or Gene expression

In the present study, we performed de novo transcriptome sequencing for six sugarcane genotypes involves as a parent in Brazilian Sugarcane Breeding Programs using the Illumina GA IIx sequencing platform. To our knowledge, this is the first public report to provide a deep sequencing RNA-seq analysis of the sugarcane transcriptome. This new sequencing efforts of sugarcane transcriptome contribute to the panel of possible molecular markers and sequence information for sugarcane breeding programs and biotechnological improvement.
