This study provides evidence for direct mechanical regulation of epidermal keratinocyte differentiation by force transduction through LINC complexes. We demonstrate that tension on the LINC complex requires integrin engagement. Transcriptome analysis reveals that disrupting LINC complexes leads to precocious epidermal differentiation.
